Packing Up for The New Life

So… finally a “new post”! I was just editing the last one for like 100 times. Alot of things have happened during this summer break. I went to the Expo and saw “tons” of people, climbed a mountain, noticed how big China was, etc. The photos are up at Shutterfly and I hope I can finish my travel journal over there since I don’t want to post the same things twice.
Oh, and I got into NCHU(中興大學) which is in Taichung(台中). It also means that I’m going away from Taipei and into a dorm life with room-mates which I don’t know in the meantime. I sincerely hope that I can have a great friendship with them. Of course I’ll miss Taipei, my piano, violin, friends, and stuffed-animals, but it’s time to learn how to be independent.
Now for some woman talk! I bought a DivaCup and it is HUGE compared to a tampon. Haven’t used it yet, so just have to wait and see if it’ll work out okay. Oh and I tried Kirakira(凱娜), the only plastic applicator tampon in Taiwan (how disappointing in such a developed country) available. It feels TERRIFIC, much better than the OBs. But OBs are much cheaper… so they are not knocked out yet.
It’s nice to live in Taiwan~ I couldn’t go on Facebook, YouTube, Plurk, etc…. when I was in XiaMen(廈門).

So after my Ice Age, I’m back again! Yesterday was the last of my college entrance exam. Well, I didn’t actually improve, but who cares. At least I’ve done something I had never done before: I actually studied! I know maybe to others this isn’t much, but for me it’s a LOT. As for the result, I’ll wait until the 19^th to make the conclusion.
Now what am I going to do? Studying? Nah… those textbooks are definitely going to be recycled. Below is a list that I plan to do during my break. The only flaw is that I won’t be able to get a part-time job because I travel around too much. By the way my cousin is back from the US. It’s such a great news but also a pity to find out that she has been to more places than me in just a year! I really want to apply for the student exchange program in college.

That’s all I can think of in the moment. Well I know its not much, but better than wasting all of my free time.

Back to School

I broke another promise *AGAIN*. I really need to get hectic once tomorrow comes, or I’ll really be off schedule! So I’m just going to cheer for myself right now. *FIGHTING Mr. Todoe*! I spent the last few months with Starcraft and made the important decision that I won’t touch Starcraft2 until July.

And forget about the promise I made in my earlier post(you’ll know if you guys have been reading this so unpopular blog, well I never meant it to be popular since I haven’t told anyone that I know about this blog), I WON’T BE TURNING ON MY COMP OR GOING ON TEAMLIQUID FOR NO REASON! Then someone would ask me, “What’s the reason?” I’ll make this clear to myself, unless it’s something that’s unavoidable(ex. homework that would need hours using computer), or else I’ll only use the computer for 10 MINUTES to READ E-MAILS and go on POPMUNDO and IMPORTANT things.

I’ve lost my first chance already, and I won’t make this happen the second time. Well, to be frank, if the exam before I got into this school counts, then it would be the third time. I can wake up in the morning at 6 o’clock am just to play games on the iPhone, what’s so hard just sitting there and reading a book? I CAN DO THIS. AND MAKE THIS AN EPIC POST. SEE EVERYONE IN JULY^^~

Getting Older

So, as I said, this is going to be happy stuff, though the title seems a little……you know. I was just talking to my friend this morning, and I seem to notice some things that I haven’t been able to pay attention to before. When I was complaining about how boring my life was, but I was just totally wrong! Actually, I have had some experiences that I don’t think anyone else has had, and whatever the outcome that I had, I am still grateful for all of that. The thing is that I watched Gossip Girl these two days, and saw how dramatic the story was, but I think everyone’s life is dramatic in their own ways. But in the end, you’ll just find out that nothing is as bad as it looks.

Life goes on, time will show you everything, and you never know what’s going to happen unless you try. It’s a big wild game, and you can’t just call it quits without paying a price. Everything you do, there’s always a reward, if you want to call it that way. Just in case you’re feeling down when you read this, don’t be upset, everyone has their own story. And…… your story, is never the worse, it just “feels” that way.

It’s Good That Life Isn’t Fair

After the power outage in the MSL Finals, Flash probably felt really low. I guess anyone would feel down if they were in his shoes. Anyways I saw the translation of the interview on TeamLiquid.net, and I was really impressed with Flash. Being just a few months older than him, I don’t really think I would have that kind of attitude if the same thing happened to me. Here’s the link.

I guess that’s what will make him even stronger, and it’s what you benefit from when life is unfair to you. Now, I don’t really know if I’m part of the lucky ones anymore, since the “unfair” things that happened to me are usually good. Seldom have I been in a situation that I get really pissed off because the disadvantage was on me. Anyways, I shall just be happy about what I have, and don’t look on the dark side of life. Starcraft is really the game that saved me from my depression; however, it’s kind of pushing me into another regret I’ll make in the future. Well, I can’t blame it on Starcraft, that regret can actually be saved by myself. And I have like 90% to control it, so it definitely will not be Starcraft’s fault.

I should be really grateful since there’s a second chance for the college entrance exam. It lets students see what they lack in the first attempt and learn from it to have a better result in the second trial. Wish me luck!

High School Classes In Taiwan

First of all, I am a native student in Taiwan! And secondly, this article is just from MY point of view, so maybe some details aren’t as objective as they should be.

As a teacher teaching high schools in Taiwan, you have to bear the silence since probably 98 percent of the class is just going to ignore whatever you are saying. It’s kind of like this:

Situation A

Teacher: So…. um…. what did you guys do during the weekend?

Student(2%): Sleep, Eat, Study(usually said by those who don’t study)…..

Student(98%): ……

Teacher: Well, I had a pretty cool weekend…(and the teacher has to tell it like a joke so the students will actually care about what he/she is saying)

Situation B

(Teacher writes a really simple math question on the blackboard)

Teacher: So does anyone know the answer to this? I’ll give extra points for those who answer!

(Chit chat chit chat:

Student A: It’s seven, go ahead and answer.

Student B: No, you do it.

Student C: ……(probably playing his/her cell phone)

Teacher: Nobody eh? Well guess I’ll have to call on someone.

Teacher: No. 25(the seat number that every student will have), please answer the question.

(Student No. 25 looks side to side)

Student A: pssst…. it’s seven.

Student No. 25: um…. seven.

Teacher: Good.

(The process above took like about five to ten minutes and loops whenever the incident is triggered)

Basically, that’s how most students react, so if you’re an exchange student from another country, you might have to get used to these kinds of things. By the way, school starts at 7:30 and ends around 4 o’clock or 5 o’clock in the afternoon. After that, some students will stay until nine to study(the majority of students are forced, though some are voluntary). If you don’t want to stay that late, it’s perfectly fine if you’re an exchange student, so you don’t have to worry about this. Most schools let you go at 4 o’clock too.

Now for some truth talk to exchange students. If you’re the ones with blue eyes blond hair and white skin, you’ll probably be the center of attention when you walk around the school. And if you’re handsome/beautiful, then you don’t even have to worry about having no one to talk to, a lot of students will just come up and say hi to you. Well even if your looks aren’t that outstanding, as long as you’re from the western countries(and look like one), you’ll probably have a good time. As for Asian countries, if you’re a Japanese, usually you don’t have to worry either, since students in Taiwan are usually crazy about Japan. You might read about the hatred between the Chinese and the Japanese in history, but it doesn’t apply in Taiwan(I don’t know about the elder though) since everyone is quite fond of Japan. Also, I don’t know if it’s the same in China. For those who are going to China, I have to say that you might need to do more research somewhere else^^~

Happy Blog

A lot of things have changed during the last six months, most of which were unhappy incidents, so my old blog was infested with complains. And the posts just reminds me of all the miserable stuff that happened, therefore I decided to open a new and happy one!
Wow! I don’t know what to say…… I haven’t even finished typing this post and something weird happens. All those who saw the MSL finals today will get it. But like I said, no more unhappy things, so for those who don’t know the details yet, go check it out yourselves. Even though it wasn’t that perfect, still, I think Jaedong would win, since he had more time to prepare. Flash just had a tight schedule and probably didn’t have ample time to prepare. Even so, you can’t say that Jaedong won fair and square. Well, there’s no end to these kind of arguments, might as well just let it go.
I just got my hair cut today too. I guess that might mean a new and hopefully great beginning. Since I decided to drop my first chance for the college entrance exam, I have to prepare real hard for the one in July. That also means that I might have like one to two posts per month, because I don’t really have that much time. It’s kind of already a miracle if I can turn on the computer. Have to get out of Starcraft until college, or else I’ll be doomed.
